Imetec Feeding Robot: Powerful Performance for Smart Farms, Lower Costs, and Increased Efficiency

2026/03/31 08:29
With the rapid expansion of large-scale livestock farming, low efficiency, high costs, and untimely feed delivery have become key challenges limiting farm profitability. The Imetec robotic feeder, with its professional technical specifications and stable operation, offers a solution for unmanned feed delivery 24 hours a day, ensuring standardized and intelligent service for dairy and beef farms, holistically improving farming efficiency and economic benefits.

Equipped with a dual-mode trackless navigation system using laser and ultrasonic sensors, the robot requires no magnetic tape or tagging. It automatically maps the livestock barn and plans optimal routes. Combined with multi-level shock-absorbing sensors, the robot intelligently recognizes animals and stalls, automatically avoiding obstacles for safe and reliable operation. Its key component is a 1.8-meter dual-spiral feed feeder with an efficiency of up to 98% and a speed of 18 m/min. Thanks to its progressive feed algorithm, feed is distributed evenly without spillage, and the residual feed level is reduced to 2–3%, significantly reducing feed loss. With a ground clearance of 10 cm, the robot easily navigates ditches and barriers in livestock barns, adapting to various operating conditions.

The power system uses a high-capacity 60V 80A lithium battery, supporting 2,000 charge/discharge cycles and a battery life of 8–10 hours. When the battery is low, the robot automatically returns to charging, ensuring continuous operation 24 hours a day. One unit serves a feeding area for 500–1,000 head of cattle, performing 14–16 high-frequency rounds per day, maintaining TMR feed rations within the animals' reach. This consistently increases dry matter intake by 2–3% and milk yield by 3–5%. The housing is made of wear-resistant stainless steel and is resistant to moisture, acids, and alkalis. The cold-climate version operates reliably at temperatures down to -35°C, combining durability and environmental adaptability.
Feeding schedules can be set remotely via a mobile app with real-time monitoring of routes, battery charge, and operating status, as well as automatic audible and visual alarms in case of malfunctions for ease of management. One robot replaces four workers, saving over 40,000 yuan in labor costs per year, simultaneously reducing costs and improving product quality.
From precise operation to intelligent management, from powerful technical features to high livestock profitability, the Imetec robotic feeder is suitable for farms with 200–10,000 head of cattle. It facilitates the transformation of the feeding process from manual to intelligent operation, providing reliable technical support for the high-quality development of modern livestock farming.
