Imetec Precision Robotic Calf Feeder: Key Efficiency Benefits

2026/03/10 08:21
The Imetec precision calf feeder robot, a key component of the intelligent "quadruple kit" for farms, draws on 25 years of experience developing intelligent ranch equipment and numerous patented technologies. With its core "unmanned, precise, and efficient" design, it not only significantly improves calf feeding efficiency and reduces ranch operating costs but also significantly optimizes breeding results, becoming a key tool for large calf farms to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Its key efficiency benefits are primarily demonstrated in the four areas listed below.

Unmanned continuous operation completely overcomes the time limitations of hand feeding. The robot is equipped

Powered by a high-performance lithium-iron phosphate battery, it can operate continuously and reliably for 8-10 hours on a single charge. When the battery level is low, uninterrupted inductive charging automatically initiates, requiring no manual oversight throughout the entire process. This ensures 24-hour continuous feeding and completely eliminates the cumbersome three-shift manual labor regime. Based on dual laser SLAM navigation and visual control, it requires no modifications to the existing barn, achieves positioning accuracy of ±5 cm, and responds to obstacles in less than 0.5 seconds. The robot can move freely between calf islands and group cows, operate smoothly between barns, adapt to the layout of various large calf farms, and independently complete the entire feeding process without manual intervention.

Precision feeding is efficient and controllable, combining the dual benefits of feeding speed and measurement accuracy. The robot uses RFID and rapid visual identification technology, capable of accurately locating individual calves within 1 second. Feeding time for one calf is only 10-15 seconds, measurement accuracy is controlled within ±2%, and milk and feed temperatures can be precisely regulated within a range of 38-40°C, ideally meeting the physiological feeding needs of calves. Furthermore, the equipment supports intermittent and dosed feeding 4-8 times per day and can automatically switch between multiple recipes, such as colostrum, regular milk, and milk replacers, based on differences in calf age and weight, adapting to the nutritional needs of calves at different stages on demand. It effectively eliminates the arbitrariness of hand feeding by strictly controlling the milk and feed intake level at 3%-5%, which is significantly lower than the 8%-15% intake level of traditional hand feeding.

Highly efficient replacement of manual labor significantly reduces ranch labor costs. One Imetec calf feeder robot can effectively serve 200-300 calves aged 0-6 months, directly replacing 3-5 full-scale calf feeders, covering the entire process of milk feeding, equipment disinfection, and feeding data recording. Using the Taishan Yunhuirong app, one manager can simultaneously monitor the operating status of 5-8 robots, check feeding data and equipment operating parameters in real time, and implement remote planning and precise control. This completely solves the industrial problems of labor shortages and high labor costs in calf feeding on large farms. It is estimated that a farm with 200 calves can save 150,000-250,000 yuan in labor costs annually.

Data-driven management completely improves the overall efficiency of ranch breeding. The robot can automatically record key data such as feed intake, feeding time, and health issues for each calf, and generate feeding curves and analytical reports without manual copying, ensuring full traceability and analysis of calf breeding data throughout the entire process. Simultaneously, after feeding, the equipment automatically performs pipeline flushing and high-temperature disinfection, effectively reducing the risk of cross-contamination, contributing to a calf survival rate of 96%-98% and a daily weight gain increase of 15%-25%. This allows calves to be hatched or slaughtered 10-15 days earlier, truly realizing a doubling of efficiency and benefits, and adapting to the needs of efficient breeding on large farms with 200-1000 calves.
